2026 Spring Shop Hop Mystery Quilt
Spring in Central Oregon always brings a sense of renewal with fresh colors, longer days, and for our quilting community, along, with one of the most anticipated events of the year: the Spring Central Oregon Shop Hop Mystery Quilt Event. Now that the weekend has wrapped, it’s the perfect time to reflect on what made this year’s Shop Hop such a memorable experience.
A Weekend of Creativity and Connection
Over two vibrant days, quilters from across the region (and beyond) traveled shop to shop, creating their own path through Central Oregon’s quilting landscape. Each stop offered something unique—from beautiful fabric selections to inspiring displays and welcoming spaces that encouraged creativity and conversation.

At the heart of this year’s event was the highly anticipated Mystery Quilt, thoughtfully designed by Karen Walker of Laugh Yourself Into Stitches.
Karen Walker is widely appreciated in the quilting community for her approachable, engaging designs that balance creativity with clear, achievable construction. Through her work with Laugh Yourself Into Stitches, she has built a reputation for patterns that are not only visually striking but also enjoyable to piece—whether you’re a confident beginner or an experienced quilter looking for something fresh.
This year’s Mystery Quilt was no exception. Designed specifically for the Central Oregon Shop Hop, the pattern offered a piece of discovery at every stop. As participants collected each piece, the design gradually came to life – building anticipation with every reveal. The structure of the pattern encouraged creativity, allowing quilters to see how their fabric choices would uniquely shape their final quilt.
