Central Oregon Shop Hop Story
The original shop hop in Central Oregon was originally called the Central Oregon Quilt Trek/Hop, we couldn’t verify it due to the low usage of the internet at that time. We do know that the first shop hop took place in the spring of 1999, it was organized by a group of quilters in the Bend area and local quilt shops, and it involved four participating shops. The shop hop was a success, and it was held every year until 2007.
In 2008, the quilt hop was renamed the Central Oregon Shop Hop, and it was expanded to include seven participating shops. The shop hop has been held every year since then (except 2020-2022 due to covid), and it has become a popular event for quilters from all over the state of Oregon.
